**Position**

VIKAND is a global leader in providing onboard medical solutions to a variety of companies with cruise or shipping vessels. The **HR Business Partner** is responsible for developing the strategic and tactical medical staff deployment across our fleets. The role is to provide effective client management from an HR perspective and implement and manage the overall recruitment, staffing engagement, scheduling and entire crewing process.

**Responsibilities**

**People Management**
- Provide guidance on strategies to enhance the experience of shipboard medical personnel, offering insights into engagement and service delivery improvements
- Manage HR related cases / incidents onboard and provide advice and support to Med Ops team and medical staff including performance, grievance, compliance and disciplinary matters in accordance with maritime employment law.
- Be the champion for appraisals and performance managements and VIKANDers’ development, engagement and retention.
- Implement plans and projects that support HR strategies and goals.

**Recruitment**
- Forecast recruitment needs for onboard medical staff
- Engage with recruitment and marketing teams on recruitment and sourcing strategies, job postings.
- Make employment offers and negotiate salary.
- Participate in job fairs.

**Staff Administration**
- Create and manage staff schedules for designated fleets in a timely manner.
- Oversee Medical Staff Coordinators to ensure that medical staff processing is completed fully and on schedule.
- Prepare onboard staff payroll data for Finance and check and sign off staff expenses.

**Business Partnering**
- Be the advisor and primary point of contact between our medical staff, Medical Ops Team and the ship’s client.
- Provide timely information, assistance and constructive feedback to ensure effective and happy partnerships are in place.
- Attend client meetings as the Vikand HR representative and participate in business updates.
- Attend HR related conferences as and when necessary.
- Increase HR engagement through regularly scheduled ship visits

**Experience Required**
- Experience in the maritime or medical services industry. Shipboard experience
- Strong general HR knowledge and experience in key HR disciplines. Familiarity with regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and
- At least two years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process of maritime
- Familiarity with maritime law and regulations desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
- Strong presentational skills and the ability to convey concepts and information in an engaging manner.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative to problem-solve creatively and under time pressure.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- A good influencer and coach, ability to develop strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and able to use data and metrics to provide proposals and solve business challenges. Adonis experience a plus.
