Dispatch Manager

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage and planning of all activities within a warehouse environment
- Maintain good morale in the department with good relationships with internal and external contacts
- Ensure the department operates according to the standards agreed in the Supply Chain KPI's and constantly strive to improve productivity whilst reduce cost and waste.
- Monitor and manage the dispatch planning processes to produce accurate and efficient plans to achieve target and maintain service levels
- Drive improvements in the planning processes, including supply planning optimization
- Manage resources and stock in line with agreed budgets
- Optimise consolidation to ensure maximum utilisation, however factoring in weight and mix of products.
- Ensure Loads are managed according to vehicles sizes assigned and communicate in advance should changes be required.
- Ensure high levels of stock accuracy and housekeeping
- Promoting continuous operations benchmarking and development of KPI’s while driving continuous improvement in terms of cost management
- Ensure improved management reporting, information flow and organizational planning
- Effectively allocate resources to service Dispatch productivity and accuracy
- Adherence to site meeting roster
- Provide support for exception management resolution through key meetings
- Set/review objectives and conduct performance appraisals for team
- Supervising the cost, quality, quantity, and efficiency of the storage and movement of goods.
- Controlling and coordinating the order phase and colligated information systems.
- Establishing and implementing business strategies, plans, and objectives.
- Analyzing information to monitor plan performance improvements and product and goods demand.
- Managing and allocating staff resources in accordance with changing needs. Managing and allocating employee and financial resources.
**When managing warehouse or transport staff, the role may also include**:
- implementing health and safety procedures;
- managing staff training issues;
- motivating other members of the team;
- project management;
- setting objectives.

**Key requirements**
- 3-5 Years in a Distribution Planning Manager role, with a further 3-5 years’ additional experience in an operational distribution/ planning role
- Solid planning & distribution experience
- Highly meticulous, analytical
- Strong understanding of integrated demand and supply planning systems
- Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint essential
- Stakeholder/ Relationship management and ability to communicate at different levels of the Organisation.
- Budget management experience
- Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure; Attention to detail and accuracy and deadline driven
- Be able to self-manage and ability to work independently with no supervision
