**Investigator - Commercial Crime - Specialized Services**

A vacancy exists for a Investigator - Commercial Crime, Nationally. The position will report to the General Manager - Specialised Services. The objective of this position is to direct, coordinate and manage all investigations of cases related to Transnet’s Perway infrastructure theft e.g. sleepers, rail clips, rails any form of cable that belongs to TFR. Goods in transit transported by Transnet, copper theft, illegal connections, security breaches, noncompliance, and criminal offences. To make recommendations on the enhancement of the overall compliance to good corporate governance within _the Transnet Freight Rail Division. _Prevention and all forms of Information Gathering, Conducting effects based operations with Investigations to Safeguard TFR Assets.

**Qualifications, experience and other competencies required**:

- Matric certificate with Grade A/B PSIRA registration and Accreditation.
- A valid unendorsed driver’s license with own reliable transport and willing to use for business purposes (Fuel will be allocated).
- 5 Years as a Commercial Crime Investigator with SAPS or Detective Duties.
- 5 Years as s corporate investigator, or within any law enforcement agency in South Africa.
- Have served as a member of the South African Police Service in terms of the SAPS Act, 1995 (Act No.68 of 1995);
- Successful completion of Basic Police training as well as Detective or Investigation / Intelligence Collection related course(s);
- Be a South African citizen of which documentary proof must be furnished;
- Proficiency in at least two of the official languages, one must be English;
- Applicants in possession of a higher qualification in the specific field or who have completed an uninterrupted period of ten (10) years’ service as a Detective and/or Intelligence Handler in court directed projects in the South African Police Service (SAPS) may receive preference.
- Have no previous criminal convictions, and or pending criminal cases and allow his or her fingerprints to be taken for background enquiries;
- Have not been declared unfit to possess a firearm;
- Be prepared to be deployed based on the needs of the Contract which may include having to relocate at one’s own expense and or to accept a post away from one’s current place of residence.
- Have a good disciplinary and attendance record during their former employment in the South African Police Service;
- Not be involved in any business or activity that will be in conflict of interest with the integrity of Fidelity

- Execution of investigations in the Transnet Freight Rail Regions
- Coordinate and follow Investigations progress from the registration of the docket to the completion and sentence.
- Plan specialist investigations/covert operations

- Cost effectively manage and co-ordinate all investigations of alleged fraud, theft, corruption, mismanagement mal-administration and other irregularities within the company, in conjunction with relevant departments.
- Capture all information accurately on a weekly basis on the platform provided to yourself and submit by Thursday 12h00.
- Effective weekly crime analysis in your area
- Manage and deploy Task Team members in your area to comply with agreed shifts and hours.
- Compile a Management Prelim and Final reports 24hours post all incidents.
- Make findings and recommendations on all incidents that occur in your area.
