**_ Position Purpose:_**

Lead and manage the streamlining of collective assurance effort across all lines of defence entity wide in order to enable

senior management, audit committee and the board to obtain a comprehensive, holistic view of the effectiveness of internal

controls over the organization's governance, risk management and business process outline, in accordance with the relevant

International Standards and national legislative frameworks.

**_ Position outputs:_**

3.1 Influence Combined Assurance Strategy Development

Interpret the company strategy as it relates to the risk profile of the organization and ensure alignment to the Combined

Assurance Strategy and develop a roadmap and framework.

Drive implementation of the strategy and roadmap in line with company policies and procedures to ensure goals are met.

Obtain resources to ensure effective execution of the combined assurance strategy.

Pro-actively facilitate business risk validations, make assessments of performance and determine status of assurance

Conduct industry and global benchmarks in support of the Combined Assurance Plan development

3.2 Develop and Implement the entity wide Combined Assurance Three year Rolling Plan

Ensure ongoing alignment of business risk exposures across all assurance providers’ entity wide.
Drive the development of the entity wide Combined Assurance three year rolling plan which is aligned to Transnet’s risk
profile.

Oversee the execution of the three year rolling Combined Assurance Plan and ensure that it appropriately and regularly

responds to emerging risks.

Drive the integration and collaboration efforts across all lines of assurance, which embraces effectiveness, efficiency and

economies of scale in pursuit of business value add.

Supervises the teams to ensure timely execution of the Combined Assurance Plan.

Provide insights into the periodic and annual written assessment on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of

internal controls and risk management for the report to the Audit Committee, the Board and other Board committees.

Execute the Combined Assurance Plan in accordance with the approved allocated budget.

Leads and manages resources to ensure the effective implementation of the combined assurance plan activities.

3.3 Provide Advisory Services and Technical support to strengthen Combined Assurance

Develop and implement the Combined Assurance Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and implementation

instruments, aimed at standardizing and unifying the language, processes and practices for the performance of Combined

Assurance activities within the Transnet Group.

Support collaboration and integration of all internal and external assurance efforts in support of Transnet Strategy

execution, value creation and preservation Provision of Technical Support across the business.

Drive the establishment of all relevant Combined Assurance Oversight and Governance Forums across the organization.

Lead the performance of maturity assessments on Combined Assurance across the organization and provide guidance on

the development and implementation of improvement plans to address all gaps identified

Ensures ongoing Combined Assurance Training & Onboarding for key stakeholders (including Exco, the Board and its

Sub-committees), across all lines of assurance

Supports the development and implementation of a RACI Matrix, for all assurance providers, to support the key Combined

Assurance initiatives aimed at strategic, tactical and functional risks across the Group.

Supports collaboration and integration of the First, Second and Third Line assurance efforts through leveraging of all

internal governance structures

Contribute to Combined Assurance process improvement, innovation and thought leadership.

3.4 Embed use of Data Mining and Analysis to identify risks and trends

Identify all necessary data mining and analytics required for Combined Assurance projects and ensure that they are

risk-based.
