**Requirements**:

- Grade12 or Matric Certificate or equivalent.
- Good Verbal and written communication skills
- Code B or Code EB Driver’s License
- Law Enforcement Certificate
- No Criminal Record
- 3 years’ experience within the Law Enforcement environment

Key Performance Areas
- Enforce the prescriptions contained in the Municipal’s By-Laws

by issuing verbal or written warnings for minor offences and the
issuing of the relevant spot fines and summons for transgressions
of a more serious nature.
- Supervise and control all staff activities, vehicles and equipment

allocated to his/her shift.
- Enforcing the City’s By-Laws and regulations to ensure safety and

security to members of the public.
- Conduct searches of vehicle, buildings and person entering or

leaving the City of Cape Town Property.
- Operate all protective and safety equipment provided and ensure

that it is adequately cared for and maintained and that with regard
to fire arms, the safe handling rules are strictly adhered to.
- Maintain all records and registers applicable at his/her level where

necessary compile accurate reports and /or statements of
incidents.
- Acts in support of various departments such as Squatter control,

dog pound sections, Traffic, Fire and Rescue Services, Forestry
and Waterworks sections as well as building inspectors, providing
the necessary protection to these bodies in the execution of their
duties.
- Ensure that their area of responsibility is covered effectively by

enforcing Municipal By-Laws he/she will be required to carry out
a variety of patrols tasks.
- Maintain the laid down standard of proficiency with regard to the

use of relevant equipment issued to him/her.
- Ensure that the City’s EPIC or any other Safety & Security

Technology is utilized, properly lead, directed and coordinated in
the branch.
