DC Meat has a vacant position for a Maintenance Assistant at their Paarl branch.

**Requirements**:
Matric with 2-3 years work experience in environment.

Driver's license and own means of transport.

General knowledge of the operation of food production equipment.

Problem solving skills.

Adaptability.

Time management skills.

Attention to detail.

Physical stamina and strength.

Read and understood the comments and special instructions on job cards.

Ensure that the correct personal protection equipment is worn at all times, unless indicated otherwise medically. Safety comes first.

Monitor that all safety systems for correct operation.

Always ensure that machines are safe to operate and that the area around and in the machine has been properly cleaned.

Ability to work shifts and overtime from time to time and to work in a fast-pace environment.

Follow standardized work and adhere to safe working practices in a continuously improving environment.

Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple production of equipment.

Operate/monitor the machines during operations to ensure quality production and mínimal unplanned stoppages.

Safely starting up and shutting off boilers.

Troubleshoot problems during machine operations.

Ensure that all maintenance related problems are reported to the team leader.

Carry out any other reasonable task given to you by the team leader.
