Data Centre Site Supervisor

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Center Site Supervisor/Manager to ensure that our mission critical infrastructure perform optimally. The role of a Data Center Site Supervisor/Manager is to ensure continuous reliability & resilience for mission critical buildings, produce reports & change requests as well as continuous implementation of all other O&M activities.

**Main function of the Job**
- Monitoring and maintenance of all Data Centre critical infrastructure
- Performing planned / preventative / predictive maintenance of all infrastructure
- Carrying out preventative maintenance of data center equipment and devices.
- Monitoring system processes to ensure smooth operations.
- Evaluating heating and cooling systems to ensure they are operational and can meet equipment temperature conditions.
- Comply to working methods ensuring that all client SLA and MSA’s are achieved
- Monitor customer network servers and storage systems to ensure uptime and efficient resolution of issues
- Maintain compliance in accordance to all relative policies and procedures
- Meet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement)
- Health & Safety monitoring and corrective action to meet statutory compliance and company’s objective of zero tolerance to unsafe work practices
- Planning for future needs of the company by assessing storage capacity requirements for current and future projects
- Coordinating with facilities staff to ensure that all facility equipment is running properly and efficiently
- Reporting any issues with data center performance or equipment malfunctions to higher management
- Working with vendors to purchase new hardware, software, and other equipment needed to support operations.
- planning & scheduling maintenance for M&E.
- scheduling Drills: EOPs, SOPs, Fire, etc.

**Requiements**:

- Good technical abilities.
- Effective communication skills, active listener, ability to understand requirements and be able to explain complicated technical process in a simple to way to non-technical staff & executive clients.
- Develop standard operating procedures and manuals for the components they are in charge of.
- Proactive problem solver, perform rapid and accurate assessments.
- Ability to work independently, as well as being a positive team player
- Self-motivated.
- Conduct self professionally, exhibits elevated levels of tolerance and patience.
- Responsible for continued learning and self-development of 24/7 staff.
- Quick response to potentially critical situations
- Trouble shoot systems and components to identify root causes of failures.
- Implement corrective actions promptly to mitigate the negative effects of system changes.
- Incident Reports.
- Generating Root Cause Analysis reports.
- Initiating change control processes.
- Good electrical & mechanical report production skills.
- Tools & materials inventory lists maintenance.
- H&S files maintenance.
- Alway available to manage urgent matters for his/her site, incuding weekends.

Certifications:

- Exin Data Centre Qualifications (preferred).
- Electrical/Mechanical qualification. (advantage)
- Management qualification. (advantage)

**Experience**:

- Experience working in managing technical personnel.
- Experience in managing Generators, Electrical panels, Chillers, CRAHs, Pumps, BMS, UPSs, IT Cabinets power.
- 3years Microsoft Excel & Word experience a must.
- BMS experience: reetriving data, analysis data, responding to alarms & masking alarms, etc.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R35,000.00 - R45,000.00 per month
