**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct comprehensive research on global political, economic, and security trends, with a focus on specific regions or thematic areas.
- Analyse and interpret data, reports, and literature to assess the implications of international events and developments.
- Monitor geopolitical developments and identify emerging trends and challenges.
- Develop policy briefs, reports, and other publications to communicate research findings and policy recommendations to stakeholders, including policymakers, media, and the public.
- Contribute to the organization's outreach efforts through participation in conferences, workshops, and other events.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate insights from various perspectives into research projects and publications.

**Qualifications**:

- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in analysing international issues, with a strong understanding of geopolitical dynamics, diplomatic relations, and security challenges.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in writing policy briefs, research reports, or academic publications for a diverse audience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and engage with external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods is desirable.
- Proficiency in languages other than English, especially those relevant to specific regions of focus, is a plus.
- Experience working in a think tank, research institution, government agency, or international organisation is preferred.

**Salary**: R20 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
