Waste Handlers

A Waste Handler is responsible for the safe collection, transportation, and disposal of waste materials, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Waste Management**: Safely handle, package, transport, and dispose of various types of waste, including hazardous materials, in compliance with municipal regulations.
- **Inspection and Sorting**: Identify and sort waste materials to ensure proper disposal methods are applied, minimizing environmental impact.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate records of waste handled, including quantities, types, and disposal methods used.
- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during waste handling and disposal, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- **Collaboration**: Work with environmental agencies and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental laws.

**Qualifications**
- **Education**: A high school diploma (Matric)or equivalent is required; additional education in environmental science or a related field is a plus.
- **Certification**: Certification in hazardous materials handling or confined space entry may be required.
- **Experience**: Proven experience in waste management, particularly with hazardous materials, is preferred.
