Exports Controller

**About the Exports Controller position**

We are looking for an energetic experienced Export Controller to facilitate all logístical functions for the Africa Region including obtaining estimates through to the arrival of shipments at the desired destination

**Core duties, responsibilities, and accountabilities of the role**:

- Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers
- Manage the relationships with service providers ensuring that all terms of service are complied with
- Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes to improve operational and financial performance
- Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
- Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs
- Recommend optimal transport modes, routes and frequency
- Feedback timeously to sales on estimates requests and be able to provide the best alternatives based on their requirements
- Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria
- Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems or customer issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities
- Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements
- Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement
- Interpret trends and analyse and review data
- Provide meaningful logistics data to others in the organisation to aid customer service and cost improvements
- Ensure that IT systems in place are effective, maintained and accurate
- Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available
- Prepare all necessary export documentation required to successfully export each consignment and meet the requirements of the various regulatory bodies
- Work closely with the Imports team, Procurement team and Sales Team to facilitate successful cross-trade or direct shipping of orders

**Minimum qualifications, criteria, and experience**:
Required:

- Matric/NQF4 equivalent certificate
- Minimum of 5 yrs exports experience
- Experience in incoterms and clearing instructions
- Experience in trans-shipments / cross-trades
- Experience in Exports into Africa
- Experience in Windows-based ERP system

Beneficial:

- NetSuite working knowledge and/or
- Relevant Logistics/Supply Chain Management Qualification
- An ability to traverse various workspaces easily with comfort in the world of logistics
