Vacancy: Import/Export Controller

A company based in Cape Town is looking to employ an Import/Export Controller to join their team.

Duties included but are not limited to:

- Tracking of air/freight consignment
- Completing qualifying documents importing and exporting consignment
- Organising relevant booking with shipping line, airline or service provider
- Communicating with airline/service provider regarding responsibilities
- Preparing and updating daily status reports, and informing clients of progress
- Regular status updates with customs department to ensure release of air/sea freight consignment
- Completing all documents once sea/air freight consignment has arrived or departed
- Providing constant feedback to operations team lead or general manager
- Finalising and confirming all invoice details received from shipping and forwarding to clients
- Organising with internal and external clients regarding delivery method once consignment has arrived
- Generating invoices
- Compiling final file for sign off
- Costing of Cargo per customer request
- Grade 12
- Tertiary education would be advantageous
- 3 - 5 years experience as an Import/Export Controller
- Knowledge in custom documentation is essential
- Communication skills
- Own transportation
