**Project Literacy** (an established NPO) in partnership with **FH Chamberlain** is launching a **Mobile Library**. A fully converted bus packed with books and learning materials — and we’re looking for a dynamic **Educator/Librarian** to take the wheel (literally and figuratively).

**Purpose of the Role**:
To promote literacy and learning through the operation of a mobile library service. This role combines the responsibilities of a librarian, educator, and driver, engaging communities, schools, and learners by facilitating reading sessions, educational activities, and maintaining the mobile library stock.

**MIN REQUIREMENTS**:

- **Min Tertiary qualification** relevant to the purpose of this project (Teacher/Librarian)
- **Code 10 driver’s license** & willingness to upskill to Code 14
- A clean driving record and medically fit to operate the mobile unit
- Fluent in English plus at least one local language
- Know how to engage a crowd, run a reading session, or build trust in new communities
- Basic computer skills (MS Office / library system beneficial)
- Strong administration skills

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Drive and manage the mobile library vehicle to various community locations
- Provide library services, including book checkouts, returns and recommendations
- Organise and facilitate library programmes and events for all ages
- Maintain accurate manual records and help with inventory management
- Engage with local schools, community centers and events to increase library access
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders and engage Public Relations with regards to Run Home to Read and ECD in general
- Participate in regular operational level meetings and reporting as part of the team
- Contribute positively to the organisation’s strategic and operational advancement
- Perform all required administrative and reporting functions related to the job

- Diploma (required)

License/Certification:

- Code 10 Drivers License (required)
