**Job title**: Commercial Analyst Team Leader

**Purpose**: The purpose of the role is to ensure that the business makes sound business decisions by providing data driven insights. As a Commercial Analyst Team Leader, your team will be responsible for creating business models, tracking and analysing performance metrics and building dashboards that aid in business success while ensuring that commercial opportunities are maximized across FCTG. This will involve leveraging off of the data and BI team to serve up solutions and recommendations to enable business leaders to make strategic business decisions. The team will be involved in various projects at a time, you will need to help manage these projects, while being focused on the details and finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges. Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of the business is critical in order to provide the right level of support and challenge to the business where deemed necessary.

**Primary duties and responsibilities (KRAs)**

**Commercial Support**
- Partnering with the business leaders to provide clear insights and recommendations into the business, market trends, risks and opportunities leading to business enhancement and business actions.
- Perform analyses cross FCTG on various topics by leveraging off of the data and BI team. To identify growth drivers to influence business activity and maximize commercial opportunities.
- Assist the Financial Controller with the building and maintaining business models that determine company success.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and execute strategic business initiatives.
- Dealing with ad hoc requests, not only from GM’s of the Front end business, but also the Finance SWOT teams where needed.
- Research and keep abreast of best practices, new technologies, competitor activities and international trends to identify opportunities and risks
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with senior leadership teams of the business.
**Leadership**
- Responsible for leading and mentoring a dynamic team of data engineers, BI developers and analysts. To provide the business with the best reporting that aids in key decision making across the FCTG business.
- Identify simpler, smarter ways of carrying our responsibilities by leveraging off of the Commercial Analyst team.
- Engage and build strong multi-level relationships within the business to ensure that the Commercial Analyst team continuously grows their understanding of the business and develops themselves.
**Hierarchy**: Reports into the Commercial Financial Controller

**Education and qualification**:
A degree in a related field (i.e. Business, Commerce, Finance or Accounting) as well as excellent knowledge of BI tools and SQL.

**Experience**:

- 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Experience in analytics and business modeling
- Intermediate level in PowerBI
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Experience in a finance role
- Track record for leading a data and BI team
- Track record of strong oral & written communication as well as good interpersonal skills.
- Track record of being accurate, deadline driven and detail oriented.
- Strong time management - flexible and able to balance multiple priorities.
