Junior Analyst

**Junior Analyst - Projects, Investment, Bid & Proposals and Risk**

We are looking for a young energetic, qualified and eager to learn Project, Investment, Bid and Risk Analyst who will source procurement opportunities and lead the preparation and submission of winning proposals. In this role, the Analyst will work with cross-functional proposal team members to help respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs), Projects and Business Case opportunities.

**Responsibilities**
- Act as the central point of contact on assigned investment proposals, lead and guide project/investment/risk analysis functions
- Analyze unsolicited project proposal and RFx, create risk assessment schedules and business case/ proposal outlines and development plans
- Direct and check proposal kick-off and debrief meetings, as well as prepare detailed proposal plans, schedules, outlines, and compliance matrices for all phases of proposal development.
- Plan winning themes, value propositions, strengths, risk management, and differentiated solutions t initial proposal outline
- Work closely with engineering, procurement & program management to complete the formulation of “win strategies and themes” (taking into account strategic relationships, competitor intelligence, etc.) and ensure the winning message is articulated throughout the proposal
- Facilitate multi-disciplined groups in innovative thinking, brainstorming and developing solutions to key aspects of the proposal providing tactical advice and guidance with the ability to drive strategy and solutions that result in winning submissions.
- Solicit management reviews and approvals during proposal development
- Monitor proposal content/business case to ensure compliance to internal and RFx quality requirement, evaluation criteria, and technical requirements
- Monitor relevant competitive procurement and project opportunities, managing the bid opportunities pipeline and circulating opportunities to the appropriate stakeholders
- Lead and/or support the development and submission of winning bid responses/business case by working with the bids team, internal experts and contractors, as required
- Research and gather information to include risk, competitive and comparative industry intelligence corporate information, product information, and other best of practices conduct within the industry
- Maintain business case, augment and improve library of reusable components, templates, and processes to reduce response time and improve quality on future projects and business cases
- Execute other tasks as and when directed by company management

**Post-Submittal Activities**:

- Debrief teams after proposal submittal
- Facilitate a retrospective assessment on proposals and solutions with a view of improving future proposal strategies, process, templates and training.

**Required education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business studies, accounting
- Affiliation with a professional body in a relevant field is an advantage

**Required experience**:

- 0- 2+ years' experience in engineering, business studies, accounting.
- Proven ability to work across organizations with effective communication, leadership, and project management skills
- Proven attention to detail
- Excellent writing, grammar, and spelling ability
- Excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a deadline-conscious, results-driven environment

**Personal Attributes**
- Write persuasively, including executive summaries and other critical components of deliverables such as; past performance volumes, technical and management volumes, security volumes, resumes,, and capturing actions from meetings with proposal team members, capture teams, and understanding of the business’s value and business model proposition
- Strong aptitude for improving organizational process flow and clarity of engineering proposals, readability, completeness, and clarity of engineering intensive proposals
- Very good and persuasive communication
- Basic knowledge of accounting and business operations will be ideal.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Johannesburg: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
