House of Task is on the look for a CNC Programmer/Operator to join our shopfitting team.

This is a full-time on-site role as a CNC Programmer & Operator in our workshop based in Marlboro, Sandton. The CNC Programmer & Operator will be responsible for the whole programming and operating the CNC machine and providing training to team members.

**Role Description**:

- Translating technical designs into machine instructions that directs the CNC machine to manufacture a part.
- Optimize the code to improve cycle times, tool usage and overall machining efficiency.
- Material Loading -Load materials (Boards) onto the machine and ensure they are securely positioned.
- Adjustments-Make adjustments to the machine settings or tooling to correct errors
- Complete quality control during the machines manufacturing stages and on the final product.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
- Write formulas to program lathe and mills using different computer software
- Adjust and verify machine settings to desired product specification
- Complete quality control during the machine's manufacturing stage and on the final product
- Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
- Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening
- Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs
- Observe all safety protocols to ensure a safe workplace for team members.
- Implement routine machine maintenance checklist and focus on preventive maintenance

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience working in a wood manufacturing setting is required
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logístical problems that arise
- Knowledge of G-code programming/Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software/ Conversation software
- Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
- Should have a positive and professional attitude
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time

**Experience**:

- CNC Programming & Operator: 3 years (required)
- Wood Manufacturing Industry: 3 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)
