**_ Position Purpose:_**

The Portfolio Manager: CSI Fund and Fundraising will be responsible for the creation of a sustainable model to support the

capacity building of locally based social development initiatives specifically run by Community-based Organisations (CBOs)

and managing the transition of current Foundation programmes to align with the new strategy. Key to the role will be the

management of fundraising for all the Foundation’s portfolios and identifying the opportunities to grow funding and
partnerships to deliver on projects and outcomes of the strategy with sufficient resources available to all. This portfolio will

also have a Business Development Researcher who will support this endeavour.

**_ Position outputs:_**
- Contribute towards a social responsibility strategy for Transnet Foundation and operating units
- Ensuring availability of detailed monthly financial reports (including reports to external sponsors)
- Budget planning, allocation, and monitoring support of the portfolio in liaison with the finance Manager
- Build the structure of a Grant Programme for locally based non-profit organisations operating in Transnet communities
- Manage availability of detailed monthly financial reports (including reports to external sponsors)
- Identifying suitable partnerships to leverage resources with government departments, reputable non-profit organisations,

community-based organisations, donors, and corporate partners for all Foundation Portfolios.
- Drive, implement, and support the monitoring of strategic and operational plans for the Transnet Foundation CSI Fund and

Fundraising portfolio including the building of this strategy from the ground up
- Draft, negotiate, and monitor the implementation of contracts for the portfolio
- Implement effective control systems for the portfolio to ensure compliance with corporate governance and risk management.
- Build and develop relationships with relevant philanthropic organisations and other corporate foundations to develop

communities of practice and engage on collaborations
- Drive external and internal messaging about the work of the Transnet Foundation CSI Fund and Fundraising Portfolio
- Engage monitoring and evaluation team to ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of project progress
- Manage portfolio team and ensure implementation of projects by providing oversight of the Business Development

Researcher, Project Manager, and Project Administrator
- Manage functioning of all ongoing projects and alignment of the Sponsorships and Donations Committee with the Grants

programme and other Foundation portfolios
- Manage internal stakeholder engagement focused on Operating Divisions and monitoring their community needs to address

relevant portfolio responses will be crafted
- Develop a bespoke Transnet Foundation-led community of practice or annual conference to engage industry around the

work of the Foundation
- Manage reporting of project impact (including oversight visits) across the portfolio to produce the Transnet Foundation

Annual Report and compliance with annual internal and external audit requirements
- Manage the establishment of a grants structure to support the capacity building of Community Based Organisations and

other non-profit organisations. Establishing governance and financial management model in alignment with projects within
- the scope of the Transnet Foundation Portfolios.
- The CSI Fund and Fundraising portfolio will also be the main steward of the Sponsorships and Donations Committee

although all Portfolio Managers are responsible for supporting it. The Committee will be responsible for vetting and all
- donation requests and grant awards. All submissions will also have to be compiled on a quarterly and annual basis (on a

project-byproject basis) and submitted to the Head of Foundation for approval
- Ensure presence of Transnet Foundation at relevant external conferences and communities of practice gatherings to create

visibility of projects and attract funders and partner
