Senior Fund Accountant - Hedge Funds The Apex Group was established in Bermuda in and is now one of the world's largest fund administration and middle office solutions providers. Summary The Senior Fund Accountant role involves preparing accurate portfolio valuations on a timely basis. You will typically be responsible for the accounting of a number of portfolios, maintaining the underlying accounting records for assigned funds (including domestic offshore, hedge funds, partnerships, etc.) and assisting with reviews, deputizing as supervisor as needed. The seasoned incumbent will maintain approximately 5-7 portfolios. Job Specifications Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio valuations Maintain the underlying accounting records for assigned funds Liaise with fund managers, brokers and custodians to communicate information and resolve issues in a timely manner Reconcile brokerage and custodian accounts to underlying records Conform to standard operating procedures Establish excellent client relationships and provide a quality service at all times Assist external auditors to ensure the audit function is executed on a timely and efficient basis Perform any additional responsibilities required by the supervisor Responsible for fund accounting Pricing and security position and price review Manual Excel NAV file verification roll forward Cash and interest reconciliation Reporting Skills Required Commerce degree or diploma with at least financial accounting 2 At least eighteen months of accounting experience Proficient in MS Excel Hedge fund industry knowledge Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills Structured and detail oriented Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Seniority Level Mid-Senior level Employment Type Full-time Job Function Accounting / Auditing and Finance Industries Accounting #J-18808-Ljbffr
