The Advertising Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate all advertising material for National and divisional promotions for Shoprite and Checkers (incl. Checkers Hyper), and to manage all associated media and deadlines.
**Job Objectives**:**
Promotional advertising material co-ordination and management**:
Brief and interact with buying, marketing, media and advertising agencies on any/all print advertising requirement.
Liaise and interact with buyers to secure promotional lines for all upcoming activity - National and divisional.
Manage job timelines and update sheets accordingly.
Update buyers SPA’s with relevant National and divisional information to ensure they stay on track on requirements.
Brief and interact with advertising agencies on any/all promotional print requirements.
Communicate with stores regarding upcoming promotions.
**Print advertising material co-ordination and management**:
Liaise with divisional ad coordinators on brand requirements for their Mid-Month and month end divisional leaflets. Then brief Buyers accordingly.
Check thoroughly, and in detail, the print advertising every step of the way. Keeping in line with divisional approval deadlines.
Ensure that correct media and/or printer specifications are briefed on National jobs and assigned to the relevant job and kept updated.
Brief advertising agencies on any related product & price advertising requirements and manage deadlines with buying community.
**System input management and promo accuracy**:
Brief and debrief advertising agency via RMS (Retail management system) with all buyer requirements.
Manage the expectations from buyers on the changes briefed.
Ensure that correct pricing is captured by buying community into SAP, and that the descriptions and price matches on the print adverts.
Ensure all buyers changes are being updated between systems.
Negotiate with media agency and production vendor on critical deadline changes, and ensure that all parties adhere to the changes.
**Timeline management**:
The workflow tool prescribes the deadlines for the various media types and agency deadlines.
Ensure that these timelines are met, prioritising in complex situations and managing all stakeholders that have to participate in the execution of a promotion.
**Qualifications**:
Grade 12/ Senior Cerificate Marketing Diploma or similar qualification - Essential.
**Experience**:
2 - 3 years relevant experience in printing and advertising - Essential.
1 - 2 years relevant experience i.e retail marketing, shopping centre promotions, etc - Desirable.
1 - 2 years relevant experience in FMCG or Retail - Desirable.
**Knowledge and Skills**:
