About the role

What you need to know:
Reporting to the Casualty and Financial Lines Claims Manager, this is a highly specialised and pressurised position requiring strong administration, technical and customer service skills to resolve complex financial lines claims timeously and, in a cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities:
- Interprets policy wordings and adjusts claims in line with the appropriate wording
- Focus on speedy claims finalisation with appointed panel attorneys where possible
- Resolve complex financial lines claims ensuring cost effective and client driven solutions
- Determine, raise and monitor reserves in line with the AIG reserving philosophy
- Support team as and when required
- Ensure compliance with the AIG Claims Management and Data quality Requirements
- Manage service levels with appointed service providers (Attorneys and Loss Adjustors)
- Accurate and timeously payments of claim settlements and service provider invoices
- Ad Hoc duties as required

What we’re looking for:

- Bcom / Bcom Law or LLB Degree
- Minimum 2-3 years working a similar position dealing with financial lines claims
- Strong administration, customer service and technical skills
- Understand legal processes and procedures, litigation management and litigation avoidance techniques
- Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment
- Ability to work independently but take instruction when required
- Effective time Management and diary skills
- Computer Literate (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
