We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Senior Analyst to join our team. The role of the Senior Analyst in the testing laboratories is to plan the testing schedule and to conduct the testing of samples submitted to the laboratory so that work is completed within required turnaround times.

**Some responsibilities may include**:

- Conduct simple and complex tests independently and trouble shoot where necessary.
- Responsible for the verification of results and interpreting data against known sources of information.
- Write SOP’s.
- Assist with method validations.
- Improve laboratory efficiency.
- Technical signatory of 80% to 100% of tests of own department.
- Ensuring adherence to departmental TAT’s and early warnings to direct supervisor of any delay on TAT.
- Oversee instrument operations.
- Responsible for the upkeep of laboratory instruments.
- Cleaning and disinfection of equipment.
- Notification to management of calibration and service requests.
- Ensure that all analysis and related tasks are performed in accordance with OHS and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
- Root cause analysis and implementation of quality corrective actions for areas of responsibility.
- Maintaining acceptable proficiency scores for work conducted.
- Ensure correct stock levels are maintained effectively for testing.
- Managing consumable costs.
- Ensure good working relationships with internal and external clients.
- Other duties as assigned by the company within the employee’s scope of work.
- National Diploma in Biotechnology or BSC Degree in Microbiology.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a commercial microbiology laboratory.
- Previous experience as a SANAS technical signatory.
- Attended ISO17025 training.
- Computer literate.
