Our client is a global leader in innovative technology for sophisticated, intelligent key management systems and locker solutions, that operate predominantly in the Mining, Engineering, and Industrial sectors. Their Global Solutions Africa Division is wishing to appoint a General Manager to strategically grow Africa globally, and leverage group developments, including Cloud technologies.

**Your Opportunity**:
The primary objective of this role is to take responsibility for the Africa division, providing overall leadership and strategic direction and delivering operational excellence, driving sales, profits, and increasing market penetration.

It will be your mission to:

- Develop and implement the Africa strategy and oversee the development of the business plans for your operational units, to drive growth and profitability year on year, developing a market presence in more sectors in the various South African and Sub-Saharan Africa markets
- Ensure the technical and commercial support infrastructure is established, efficient, and aligned to support the sales growth in these markets
- Plan and direct the organisational activities to achieve agreed targets and standards for financial and trading performance, quality, and legislative adherence.
- Work with other members of the Executive team to develop and implement global strategies for the development of the division.
- Work effectively across business units and senior business leaders to maximise the full potential of the South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa division, delivering excellent customer service.
- Represent Africa at Divisional executive meetings and in wider management forums when required
- Recruit, select, develop, motivate and retain the very best talent in the market.
- Lead, motivate and develop an exceptional management team.
- Develop and maintain organisational culture, values, and division’s reputation in the external markets and for all employees, leading by example
- Ensure all aspects of the Africa division are managed to the very highest health, safety, and environmental standards.

You will be self-motivated and trustworthy with strong organisational skills and the ability to be able to prioritise different tasks. You will strive for world-class performance, promoting innovation and teamwork.

You will possess excellent commercial acumen, with the proven ability at negotiating solutions, along with the ability to develop and implement a winning business strategy. It is important that you are also customer-focused and can provide a clear vision for the future direction of the African division.

**Special competencies**:

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience is paramount.
- Ability to identify and develop competencies to achieve future business goals.
- Have a strong 3+ years track record in managing a P&L business, with good knowledge of financial, operations and field service areas of a solutions business
- Have strong commercial and communication skills, including experience and interest in technology hardware and software environments
- Can provide accurate short and longer-term business plans, set realistic milestones, and review appropriately.
- Experience and the ability to initiate and drive continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to promote and facilitate continuous development of employees within the organisation.
- Travel will be required and global travel on occasion.
