Role Purpose
Implement and manage the sales strategy for the province in alignment with the overall business strategy and the principles of client centricity.
Requirements
- Degree in Business Management or Commerce
- FSCA recognised qualification or credits pertaining to the date of first appointment in the industry, listed on the most recently published Board notice as published for recognised qualification, to fulfil the duties of a compliant supervisor
- FAIS Key Individual Regulatory Exam Level 1
- FAIS Representative Regulatory Exam Level 5 passed
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- 6-8 years' senior sales management experience in a similar role in the life insurance industry
- 6 years' senior management experience
- Understanding of financial services retail distribution channel business
- Minimum one year experience in the rendering of financial services
- Minimum one years’ managerial experience overseeing the rendering of financial advice to fulfil the duties of a compliant key individual and be registered with the FSCA
- Ability to speak African languages or multi-lingual (preferred)
- Understanding of the relevant legislation (General Code of Conduct for Authorised Financial Services Providers and Representatives, Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS), Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI), Long Term Insurance Act, Treat Customers Fairly (TCF, etc.)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement and manage the provincial strategy and targets aligned to business strategy
- Build a high performance, inclusive culture where top performance is rewarded, and poor performance is managed
- Develop, implement, and manage a risk management strategy
- Drive the execution of strategic projects in the regions
- Identify and capitalize on entrepreneurial opportunities
- Build competitor market intelligence to proactively adjust sales strategy and tactics
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure that the client value proposition is understood and implemented
- Monitor, track, and report on business performance to ensure targets are met
- Identify, attract, appoint, grow, engage, reward, and retain top talent to drive execution
- Demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviour, through living the company values of excellence, innovation, diversity, integrity, accountability, and teamwork
- Drive a culture that guides and directs best practice, fostering an environment of continuous learning, improvement, and cohesiveness.
- Drive the achievement of sales targets across products and market channels to achieve set strategic financial goals
- Ensure that the functional strategy is adequately budgeted for through the development and implementation of a fit for purpose budget
- Drive the development and implementation of governance, compliance, integrity, and ethics frameworks throughout the functional area
