Reporting into the Global Director, Integration Services and working within the Global Data and Integration team, the Global Database Administrator will assume a technical leadership role across numerous initiatives to ensure systems and services meet our Client's requirements, adhere to industry best practices, and are optimized to maintain high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage Microsoft SQL databases, both on-premises and in the cloud (Azure SQL).
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, optimization scripts, and performance monitoring.
- Monitor system’s health and analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities.
- Work closely with Applications Management to ensure that all production systems are well maintained, and new functionality is implemented in a way to ensure performance and availability.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Provide multiple time zone support for critical production systems. This role will require on-call availability in case of critical system downtime.
- Provide regular input as to developing technology trends in data and database solutions that are used in, or of interest to the firm.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education (or equivalent) with a specialization in Information Technology.
- Microsoft Database Administration certification considered a significant asset. Other related technology certifications are beneficial.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with database systems across a broad spectrum of technologies.
- Understands enterprise and/or program support principles.
- Has commercial awareness and understands the business value required from IT investments.
- Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills along with self-motivation and directedness with an attention to detail.
- Able to make decisions and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight project deadlines and adapt to differing demands while providing operational assistance, operational oversight, and technical leadership across numerous initiatives.

The Global Database Administrator is responsible for supporting global data systems with hands-on technical support and expertise. This role requires the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of databases across a broad spectrum of technologies to ensure our Client's strategic objectives are met. Additionally, the Administrator will be required to provide on-call availability in case of critical system downtime.
