- The purpose of the role is to ensure that the Database for the Store Based Point of Sale System is updated and that it is correct in terms of- Selling price of items;
- Product selling and discount pricing for bulk items are correct in the system;
- Ensuring that processing of “deal” / sale items / promotions as per agreed suppliers terms are correct and processed accordingly into the system

**Responsibilities**:

- Create pricing codes and listings correct inline with the master file from signed off agreements in terms of the terms of purchase of product items;- Optimize database performance;
- Support the stores on pricing and product listing concerns;
- Provide immediate response to critical issues related to pricing and line item queries to avoid miss pricing issues and system faults that would result in the sale being incorrect;
- Maintain and create automation and deployment software and tools;
- Refine processes to continue our focus on performance, availability and security;
- Essential Database administration — install, configure, upgrade, backup, and monitor databases;
- Proactively identify and solution operational risks;**Inherent Requirements**
- Worked in a Team, in conjunction with the Buying department and store buyers / planners;- Self-managed with emphasis on prioritization;
- Experience in Arch Enterprise is advantages;
- Can keep a cool head under pressure;
- Clear communication;
- Time Management skills;
- 2 years of experience in Database Administration;
- Must have a structured approach to troubleshooting;
- Relevant Qualification / Degree in Computer Science with emphasis on Data Management;
- Excellent typing skills and a very high level of accuracy;
- Should be very systematic and analytical;
- Matric Certificate is required.
