**Purpose of the Job**
To develop and implement strategies in order to manage the Lubricant Technical Product Portfolio and to deploy Technical Resources & Services to support customers in a manner that maximises profits & market share and delivers sustainable growth of the Lubricants business.

**What you’ll have done before**
**Baseline**
- 10 years’ experience in O&G, Chemicals or related industries providing technical advice for technology, machinery & equipment
- 5 years’ experience managing others
- NQF Level 7 (Degree in Engineering/ Science or related)

**Advantageous**
- 10 years relevant exp in Lubricants Industry
- 5 years of providing technical support for Lubricants
- 5 years of managing people in a Technical Services/Sales Environment

**What you will be doing**
**PRODUCT MANAGER**
- Define & implement the Product Management strategy in the region including PLCM processes & activities to support the business plan volumes and margins.
- Ensure Product Technology and Formulations are aligned to market and business requirements through collaboration with base oil suppliers and technology partners to maximize margins and market share.
- Steward the performance of Power Brands and Private labels while managing brand assets, including logos packaging and visual identity.

**PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT**
- Responsible for developing and implementing product strategies and launch plans.
- Responsible for positioning Engen lubricants in the market and to differentiate the brand from our competitors.
- Oversee new lubricant development, new lubricant formulations and products.
- Lead the Product development activities in the region and consider advances in global technology, market changes and ensure alignment with the global OEM and industry specifications in order to support the business strategy and its sustainable growth.

**TECHNICAL RESOURCES MANGER**
- Manage and maintain a sustainable Technical Resource Pipeline to ensure the required expertise and resources are available to support customers and the business.
- Ensure Training programs are in place for internal and external customers to market and promote Engen products and services.

**TECHNICAL SUPPORT & CUSTOMER SERVICES**
- Define and implement a Technical Services model in the region to ensure adequate technical support to Engen customers.
- Allocate resources to provide the necessary field services, CSC Helpdesk & training services to customers to maximise volumes and margins.

**TECHNICAL DATABASE MANAGEMENT**
- Develop and manage the relevant Lubricant Technical Database/s to ensure accurate information on products, raw materials and technology is available to customers and the Lubes Business e.g., Lubes Recommender

**OEM AND SUPPLIER INTERFACE**
- Manage the interface between Engen and OEMs to identify product specifications, approvals and required formulations.
- Lead engagements with base oil and additive suppliers on raw material & product technology to maximise margins and profits
