Manufacturing Machine Setter

The manufacturing setter prepares machines and tooling for production. Thisincludes making the necessary adjustments and doing the necessary testing to ensure tools and machines meet the required specifications and quality standards required to meet the production output.
- Key requirements: *
- Operate and setting of eccentric and hydraulic presses, press-brakes and guillotines
- Use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, depth gauges and calipers
- Measure and inspect components and complete products to verify conformance to specifications
- Able to read and understand technical drawings
- Understand the use of sheet metal press tooling
- Perform programming on press-brake machines
- Understand bending tolerances for sheet metal
- Assembly of first off components for approval and sign-off
- Cleaning and calibrating machines
- Check machines for defects and report if necessary
- Work within tight tolerances
- Monitor machine/tool performance to ensure parts remain within specifications
- Repair, maintain and replace parts on tools, dies and jigs
- Safe handling of tooling during set-up and strip down
- Ensure machine parts and tooling are kept in good working condition and storedcorrectly
- Maintain setters notes and historic set up data
- Ensure daily setup requirements for production are met
- Communicate across multiple platforms regarding progress (in English)
- Able to work in a team environment
- Advantageous*
- Welding/spot-welding experience
- Lathe, mill and CNC experience
- CNC punching/laser/plasma experience
- Fitter and turner experience
- Other requirements*
- Own transport
- Willing to work shifts
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to adapt to changing work requirements
- Problem solving skills
- Excellent work ethic
- Computer literate
- Grade 12
- 2-3 years experience minimum

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to R10,500.00 per month
