**OVERVIEW**:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated GIS Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting our clients with their geospatial data needs, from data acquisition and analysis to creating impactful visualizations and reports.

**JOB PURPOSE**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Data Management**:_
- Acquire geospatial data from various sources (e.g., government agencies, open data platforms).
- Clean, organize, and maintain geospatial data in a consistent and efficient manner.
- Develop and implement data quality control procedures.
- Document and create metadata for geospatial datasets.
- **Data Analysis and Visualization**:_
- Perform spatial analysis using GIS software to answer specific client questions and solve problems.
- Develop thematic maps, charts, and other visualizations that effectively communicate complex information.
- Utilize cartographic principles to create visually appealing and informative maps.
- **Project Support**:_
- Collaborate with project teams to understand their GIS needs and develop solutions.
- Assist with the development of project proposals and reports that incorporate geospatial data
- Provide technical support and guidance on GIS-related issues.
- **Technology and Innovation**:_
- Stay up-to-date on the latest GIS technologies and trends.
- Research and evaluate new GIS software and tools to improve efficiency and capabilities.
- Explore and implement innovative approaches to using GIS for client projects.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, QGIS).
- Strong understanding of geospatial data concepts and principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
