- Assist users to compile specifications for the procurement of goods and services.
- Conduct research, evaluates findings and makes recommendations to users on the procurement of goods and services.
- Conduct strategic sourcing of technical / operations related products and services
- Procure commodities and services, to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality of product and customer satisfaction.
- Follow-up on outstanding orders to expedite the procurement process.
- Liaise with vendors and internal customers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations in order to minimize turnaround time, streamline work processes and to work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures and legislation.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Matric and tertiary qualification
- Certificate in Procurement or equivalent Supply Chain/Procurement qualification;
- A minimum of three years’ experience as a Technical Buyer
- Understanding of PFMA, Water Services Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Must be able to process electrical order requirements per project; identify alternative suppliers both nationally and internationally; expedite timeous delivery of spares and parts.
- Computer Literate with proficiency in Office and Financial Information System
- Good communication skills, well defined negotiation skills, numeracy inclined, and attentive to detail.
- A high level of confidentiality and integrity.
