**PURPOSE**

As a leading global retail design company, Barrows are at the forefront of innovative design and manufacturing. We aim to develop considered designs and processes that deliver on our long term sustainability goals and have embarked on a journey into large format additive manufacturing processes.

The purpose of this role would be to spearhead the design and development of additive processes on both large and small scale as well as explore future prototyping and production techniques.

**ROLE**

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Product Designer with a proven background and enthusiasm for additive manufacturing to contribute meaningfully to the new innovation center. As a Design Specialist in Barrows your role would rely on your breadth of knowledge from product design and processes through to the operation of printers.

The role would primarily require you to generate and refine concept designs for 3D printing, develop CAD files, slice models for printing and operate a state of the art large format robotic 3D printer.

In addition to additive processes, conventional production processes such as sheet metal and plastic fabrication would also be engaged.

**ABOUT YOU**

- At least 3 years experience in the design or manufacturing industries.
- You have an appreciation for design and the design process.
- You exhibit creativity and curiosity with the ability to generate solutions that can be realised.
- Your communication skills are clear, strong and versatile, enabling you to articulate the challenges and ideas both verbally and visually.
- You are a team player and able to collaborate effectively in a cross functional environment.
- While a Product Design qualification is valued, your experience and portfolio will play a leading role in qualifying your capabilities.
