**Job summary**:
In this challenging position, you will be responsible for the finance activities of South Pole - Africa and be part of building a newly shared service department for the South Pole Group. You will also assist with tasks in other countries from a group perspective, as a member of the Global Accounting team. As the Head of Finance Africa - Shared Services you will be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders across South Pole and also external stakeholders to ensure reporting is completed in a timely fashion for the African entities and also manage the group consolidation reporting processes.

**Main tasks & responsibilities**:

- Lead the implementation of the new Shared Service Department to develop a culture of service excellence across the globe.
- Manage the Solvency and Liquidity of the African Entities on a monthly basis
- Ensure teams are appropriately resourced in order to meet SLA's and stakeholder expectations, flexing and adapting to meet scheduled and unexpected peaks of activity
- Collating, evaluating, and processing data to identify patterns and trends to drive continuous improvement
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the respective Shared Service team to deliver best-in-class service, meeting or exceeding all KPIs and within budget.
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the Group reporting team and their deliverables
- Manage group audit procedures and year-end close off
- Set the strategy for the development of the Shared Service department and it's employees
- Be accountable for associated policies and procedures of the group ensuring the control framework remains fit for purpose and effective
- Prepare and submit the monthly and yearly financial reporting pack and management accounts for the local African entities
- Manage the preparation of the Monthly and yearly Financial reporting packs for the group
- Manage accounts receivable and credit control department, accounts Payable, and inventory
- Manage Treasury and cash flow forecasts
- Coordinate with the Global Tax team the billing, review, and reconciliation of intercompany recharges
- Review monthly payroll and employee tax calculations
- Ensure full local taxation compliance with the completion and submission of mandatory local direct and indirect tax returns
- Document all accounting procedures and ensure they are in alignment with Group policies
- In coordination with the Global Tax team and the local consultants implement transfer pricing policy and procedures together with the review and submission

**Requirements**:
Essential
- CA/CIMA or equivalent
- Relevant experience in international accounting and finance minimum 6 years
- Group reporting experience in multi-functional and presentational foreign currencies
- Group Audit management experience
- High-energy, flexible, and responsive work style; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and fluent in English
- Excellent IT skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Able to work closely in a diverse team, but also independently, able to liaise effectively with stakeholders within the organization
- IFRS Experience

Desirable
- Experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm is a plus
- Experience in Shared Service would be beneficial
