**BASED DURBAN**:

Responsible for the direction and supervision of all warehousing, delivery, inventory management and receiving operations of the warehouse.
Ensures the safe, timely and efficient receipt and delivery of a variety of chemical and ancillary products, adhering to the safety and quality guidelines and applicable governmental regulations.

**Key Performance Areas**

**Communication and Data Management**
- Effective communication with various stakeholders through sharing/receiving applicable information/instructions.
- Ensure effective and regular meetings are held with direct reporting staff.
- Regular updating of work onto internal system and networks where applicable.
- Prepare and submit reports within prescribed deadlines.
- Maintenance of Tasking sheets, keeping of effective minutes, and filing of all documents.

**Warehouse and Inventory Control**
- Keep stock levels within agreed capital budgets and warn CFO of any changes to stock position that may influence Company Cash flow.
- Conduct Stock Cycle Counts, Shrinkage and Stock Loss analysis to improve the stock control environment.
- Engage with Manufacturing to limit the number of Out-of-Stock lines.
- Ensure the efficient utilization of space, proper store layout and planning peak capacity requirements.
- Keep stock control systems up to date and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Manage and maintain all ordering, receiving, dispatching and distribution processes and participate in physical inventory checking (stock taking).
- Manage, control, investigate and report on any stock losses.
- Ensure that equipment in the warehouse is maintained in good operating condition and that employees are trained in proper mechanical (e.g., Vehicles and Forklifts) and chemical safety procedures.
- Inspect physical conditions of warehouse, vehicle fleet, equipment (e.g., Fire Fighting etc.) and oversee planned maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
- Assist the Distribution Manager with planning, supervising and coordination of the delivery of orders with own fleet and/or outside stakeholder / where required.
- Investigate stock shortages, losses, and complaints to identify root cause and ensure that there will be no reoccurrences.
- Manage the inventory in the warehouse paying close attention to product life cycle (FIFO), shelf life, proper labelling, and traceability (batch codes) and hazardous material management.
- Promptly report every incident, accident, injury, or potential near miss to Management.

**HSE and Security**
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Acts and company standards - Ensure workplace, Health Hygiene, Safety, Environment and Housekeeping requirements are met.
- Take responsibility for Building Security and related security systems.
- Ensure compliance with Insurance Requirements relating to Fire Systems and Stock Location.
- Ensure the applicable training is conducted and licenses are renewed when required (e.g., Licences, Hazchem, Valid PdP’s)
- Ensure First Aid equipment / box is maintained and kept updated and stocked and ensure First Aider personnel certification is valid and current.
- Maintain and select Fire fighters where required and achieve the necessary training.
- Ensure Spill team is competent in case of an emergency.
- Ensure Forklift drivers’ requirements are maintained.

**General Operations and Financial Management**
- Drive continuous improvement through streamlining and optimising relevant operational practices, processes and systems which consist of but are not limited to Warehouse administration, receiving, dispatching, distribution, equipment inspections as well as SHEQ requirements.
- Drive out wasteful expenditure and practices and produce savings against budgeted spend.
- Manage cost drivers and take the necessary action to mitigate financial risk and address variances and discrepancies.
- Ensure adherence to operational and financial frameworks of practices, processes, standards, and controls.
- Manage Building Maintenance requirements.

**Human Capital Management**
- Prepare/maintain job descriptions for all direct reports where required.
- Maintain effective and consistent discipline within the division and ensure that company HR and HSE policies are adhered to.
- Identify and implement training programs within areas of development to improve human capital outputs.
- Conduct performance reviews with direct reports and ensure objective feedback is issued when required.
- Minimize risk to all staff members and implement a Zero Tolerance culture regarding the wearing of PPE.
- Ensure that all personnel that may be required to use Machine operators (e.g., Forklift) and or transport Hazardous Goods, obtain the relevant Licences.
- Supervise and manage the performance and progress of approximately 35 warehouse staff members.
- Manage Covid-19 Screening and related actions for direct reports.
