Audit Manager

**Title: Manager: Audit**

**Reporting to**:Audit Operations Manager

**Purpose of the Job**:
The incumbent will be involved in providing assurance services to our portfolio of clients and will be responsible for the planning and execution of audits. This role will also be responsible for leading audit teams during the fieldwork. In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide a variety of non-assurance services to our clients.

This is a senior level permanent position and which report to the Managing Director and the Audit Operations Manager and will have direct responsibility of Trainee Accountants under assurance:
**Key Job Duties or Responsibilities**:
**Technical Audit**
- Management of a portfolio of clients and delivery of high quality audit and assurance service.
- Planning and managing statutory and voluntary audits including the preparation and reviewing of audit plans and work.
- Ensure team and individual budgets, and project performance objectives are achieved.
- Maintain the highest technical and professional standard.
- Ensuring audit plan is congruent with risk assessment audit experience
- Providing additional help and guidance to clients including the review of clients accounting systems and controls and develop solutions to avoid recurrence;
- Preparing tax computations and completing tax returns timeously;
- Compliance with all accounting, auditing and other technical standards.
- Client relationship management which includes identifying ways to maximize the relationship with clients and delivering added value.
- Reviewing work performed by trainees and audit files prior to presentation to the Director;
- Coach, train and develop auditing staff to ensure their knowledge meets the requirements.
- Ensure direct reports submit approved weekly timesheets
- Undertake wider office activities, as required.
**Training & Development**
- Managing and overseeing trainees training and development process which includes but not limited to: o Performance of a role SAICA registered assessor o Managing training and evaluating trainees and ensuring all assessments are submitted when due and meet the quality standards in terms of SAICA requirements; o Effective performance management, coaching, training and developing trainees to ensure their performance meets the requirements. o Ensure the coordination of training & developmental plan interventions. o Perform summative assessment to determine whether trainees have met the final competency requirements; o Ensure the completeness of evidence and the integrity of the ANA’s.
- Oversee general office activities, as required in relation to training and development.
**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Must have completed articles at a small or medium sized audit firm;
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree
- Registered SAICA Assessor will be advantageous
- 2 years’ post-articles work experience;
- Working knowledge of Caseware and Audit Mate;
- Experience in managing staff;
- Administration and billing exposure
- Passionate about audit profession;
- The ability to travel, with own transport.
