**Job description**

As part of the social responsibility initiatives, the NNR provides opportunities to unemployed graduates to receive workplace skills and experience

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- Completed NQF level 8 in Nuclear or Radiation Science/ Nuclear Engineering or equivalent
- No work experience, graduates in search of internship to gain experience
- Not have participated previously in an internship programme
- Be a South African citizen

**Skills Development and Training focus areas**
- Legislative and regulatory framework related to Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Overview of international standards related to EPR
- Review and assessments process
- Preparation and conduct of nuclear emergency exercises and drills
- Overview and understanding of the RERC Response Plan, supporting procedures and related activities in ensuring the RERC readiness
- NNR inspections related to EPR activities
- Participate in liaison meetings with authorisation holders and external stakeholders
- General understanding of the NNR regulatory processes

**Required Competencies**

- Ability to work under pressure
- Interpersonal skills
