We are looking for a CA(SA) to join a team as a Research and Development manager for a Multinational Company based in the Sandton area.

**Requirements**:

- CA(SA) - preferable
- Accountant with background in taxation
- Strong academic background
- Experience in Research and Development advantageous
- Good command of English Language - written and oral
- Salary is market related and based on previous experience

- Managing the Research and Development department and reporting directly into the head of legal operations
- Assisting R&D resources to generate new business lines through research and development of new claiming territories to ensure that we maximise our clients’ VAT reclaim potential. The R&D resource role is responsible for researching opportunities and implementing the findings into the business model. This includes determining pricing and commerciality for new products, providing training to the processing them when a claim territory has been successfully researched.
- Identify additional claiming opportunities in the markets that we are selling into and ensuring that we grow the business by adding claim opportunities or identify new structures to sell our products to. This includes determining pricing and commerciality for existing products.
- Assistance with resolving technical queries from clients on a pre-submission level.
- Research for new markets to sell our products to ensure we give direction to the sales force.
- Research and Launching new products to our client base.
- This role requires strong technical skills and a good understanding of taxation concepts.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**
- Managing the Research and Development department
- Research and Development which comprises research into claim territories and implementation of this research into the current VAT Reclaim model
- Staying abreast of developments in international VAT Reclaim issues and implementing changes into the current business model
- Completing market research to steer the business into profitable jurisdictions
- Ad hoc technical research on client queries
- Assisting branches in technical queries and identifying opportunities in current sales markets to further grow the business
- Find, develop and implement new opportunities based on topics provided
- Document Research findings and conclusions
- Responding to and resolving product queries and reporting on progress
- Continuous development and training of the Processing Team on product hand overs
