**Purpose of the role**
The purpose of this role is to ensure that all labels produced during the printing process meet the company’s quality standards before being released to the Dispatch department.
The quality technician will play a key role in upholding the highest standards in label quality across our printing and slitting operations, ensuring our products meet the expectations of both internal and external customers.

**The Role**:
**In this exciting role, you will**:

- Authorise the stoppage of machines if quality is compromised, in consultation with the Shift Supervisor
- Conduct regular quality checks during production and final sign-off stages
- Monitor compliance with internal quality standards and procedures (SOPs)
- Identify and report any quality issues or product defects in a timely manner
- Ensure correct use of inspection systems on printing and slitting equipment
- Verify the availability and accuracy of production documentation at presses
- Monitor the storage and labelling of in-process materials and finished goods
- Maintain accurate quality records and update visual management boards where required
- Collaborate with Production Supervisors and Production Managers to address concerns and support resolution
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in quality-related meetings
- Actively participate in safety practices, meetings, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

**To succeed in this role, you will require**:

- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Proficiency in MS office or equivalent software (Radius) systems
- Further education or certification is advantageous
- Experience in a printing or packaging QC environment
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
