**The Role**

As a **Buyer **you will contribute to the continued growth of the kidswear department. You will manage a number of product categories across boys
- and girlswear. Your primary accountability is to build balanced range assortments and to develop affordable, profitable and quality kids apparel in line with the department strategy.

**Reports to**:
Buying Manager

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure the Superbalist Customer is at the heart of everything that we do
- Research seasonal fashion trends using internal and external resources
- Strategically build balanced range assortments for our private label kidswear brand across boys and girls apparel
- Work closely with your suppliers and supply chain to ensure stock is delivered on time, packaged correctly and as cost effectively as possible.
- Monitor stock levels, sales and margin to ensure KPI's are achieved/ exceeded
- Trade your range in-season through consistent analysis and interpretation of data to drive sell-through and reduce markdown. Related reporting.
- Prepare and present data and product for meetings and reviews
- Monitor local and international market trends to ensure we offer our customers the best product and price at the right time
- Support the customer service team in delivering a world class customer experience in product delivery & service

**Key Requirements**
- Matric (grade 12) with exemption
- Relevant qualification in Fashion, Retail, Commerce, Design
- Min 2 years' experience in retail
- Previous Kidswear buying experience advantageous
- Affinity for kidswear and knowledge of safety requirements
- Solid knowledge and understanding of retail maths

**Key Competencies**
- Competency in MS Office packages specifically in Excel
- Proven ability in analytics & logical interpretation of data
- High level of organisational skills
- Resilient, dedicated and self-motivated
- Team player with a great attitude
