**Job Title**:Workshop Foreman/Technician

**Supervisor**:General Manager, Area manager

**Supervises**:Technicians, Drivers, General laborers

**Principle Duties & Responsibilities: (not limited to)**
- Coordinate the activities of the workshop to ensure efficient operation
- Interact with customers in a professional manner
- Ensure customer satisfaction
- Quality control - Inspect and test drive each vehicle before released for delivery
- Supervise all technicians and ensure top quality workmanship
- Oversee training of junior technicians/apprentices
- Assign jobs to technicians
- Ensure optimal productivity throughout the day
- Assist Service Advisor in selling and upselling
- Ensure correct diagnosis by technicians
- Setting performance targets and ensure such targets are made on a weekly and monthly basis
- Compile weekly performance to target report and submit to General Manager and
- Translate customer-reported problems to Technicians
- Ensure that automotive work provided to customers meets company quality standards
- Workshop Foreman must ensure that **ALL **customer complaints are reported to and handed over to General Manager by Service Advisor
- Inform management of all areas of concern
- Ensure that all technicians keep workstations clean and tidy
- Use customer history to upsell
- Ensure that the vehicle has been test driven and that all warning lights are cleared
- Ensure that pre delivery checklist is completed and signed off
- Workshop manager are responsible for all staff under their management (as above) in terms of performance and attendance.
- VAGSpec Workshop Managers MUST maintain a professional presence on social media and constantly promote the business on such platforms. This includes but not limited to Facebook, Google My Business, Instagram, Gumtree advertisements.
- Clock in at least 20 minutes before business hours in order to plan your day and prepare for bookings.
- Tolls and toolbox inspections to be done every Friday. Records must be kept and send to General Manager on a monthly basis before payday
- Company cars must be inspected and driven on a weekly basis. Vehicle reports must be send to General Manager
- Workshop Manager is responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of buildings, surrounds and all sign writing
- Workshop Manager is responsible to address all work in progress and carry overs.
- Ensure minimum daily targets are achieved on turnover and labour hours sold
- Monitor fuel and daily expenses. **Must **sign all fuel slips
- Monitor and manage driver fuel books.

- Be fluent in English.
- Have problem solving abilities
- Great communication skills
- Handle objections
- Excellent telephone skills/manners
- Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Have excellent technical knowledge of a vehicle
- Must be computer and Social media literate
- Basic mathematics skills to prepare and process bills and customer payment
- Must be sales orientated
- Must have excellent people management skills

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Pretoria, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Vw or Audi: 5 years (required)
