Executive Technical Advisor

**PURPOSE**

An exciting opportunity exists to support and contribute to the work of the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and management team in delivering the business objectives of Fraser Alexander.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Safety and Health**
- Implement safety and health principles in all team interactions and ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
- Collect and summarise the specific risks within the working area and implement plans/systems to avoid these risks.
- Evaluate and review the impact of critical risks and monitor the effectiveness of critical controls relevant to the work area.
- Identify power usage effectiveness (PUEs) and monitor critical controls.
- Support site visits and engage in physical safety checks, interventions, and coaching - visible field leadership (VFL).
- Report deficiencies and implement plans to address weaknesses - High Potential Hazard (HPH) reporting.

**Operational Performance and Delivery**
- Provide future-focused inputs that anticipate and respond to business challenges and opportunities across the business.
- Facilitate COO’s team effectiveness through active management of the information flow between team members.
- Assist the COO and the team in the development and preparation of periodic and ad-hoc reports, memorandums, presentations and communications.
- Facilitate the COO’s engagement and messaging to all stakeholders, working with Exco and Communications as required; to include managing high-profile client visits, media events and interactions with employees, leaders, customers and communities.
- Prepare and provide input to papers, reports, presentations, decision support material communications or other deliverables from the COO to internal and external stakeholders.

**Strategic Management**
- Track and monitor Fraser Alexander’s strategic goals implementation and work with team members to correct any variations.
- Facilitate COO’s team effectiveness through active management of the flow of information between members of the team.

**Reporting**
- Generate regular operational performance reports by working closely with BI Department and other Divisions.
- Lead and support the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects or initiatives that are sponsored by (or require input from) the COO.
- Provide technical input and assist the COO and General Managers on any presentations and reports as required.
- Lead and support the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects or initiatives the COO.

**Innovation**
- Identify innovations to improve the business and work of the role.
- Identify solutions to mitigate business and safety risk.
- Collect and summarise the specific risks within the working area and implement plans/systems to avoid these risks.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- A tertiary level/post-graduate qualification in a relevant field (i.e. Business / Commerce / Finance / Management / Technical discipline) or equivalent qualifying NQF level 7 qualification
- Valid health certificate as per Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)

**EXPERIENCE**
- Five - ten years of experience in mining operations
- A demonstrated track record of achievement in roles featuring work and stakeholder engagement at a similar level of complexity
- Understanding the Fraser Alexander business, including the commercial, operational, safety, people, technology and innovation levers for value creation within the organisation

- Digital acumen and technological literacy inclusive but not limited to MS Office Suite/collaboration tools
- Strong project coordination, planning and time management
- Good communication, conflict handling and interpersonal skills
