**Purpose of the position**:
The IT Manager role will be responsible for the day to day management of the VOSS IT Team, based primarily in Cape Town, South Africa, with assistance provided by regional technical staff in the UK and US when needed. They will be required to have technical, hands-on experience, to be able to actively engage in and assist with IT projects and Help Desk tickets, to efficiently drive progress on tickets, changes, strategic projects, initiatives and key improvements forward.

They will be expected to spend 50% to 75% of their time performing various hands-on technical planning, implementation, and troubleshooting or in assisting the IT team with support tickets, change requests, or managing priority escalations. The remaining 25% to 50% of the time will be on IT Management, Operations and Financial / Procurement related aspects of the role.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Plan and assist with IT Infrastructure, Application, & Security related projects, and rollouts
- Help to plan and implement a new ITIL based ITSM (IT Service Management) tool, leveraging best practices for Help Desk Ticket & Change Management, IT Procurement process workflows including a properly managed and maintained CMDB, a Service Catalog and tracking Hardware and Software assets, Dashboards and Reporting.
- Lead and assist with Global IT Infrastructure maintenance including OS & Application Patching, updates, upgrades, Backups, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery
- Managing and improving the security and availability of VOSS IT systems, through proactive monitoring and event management and providing recommendations for continual improvements.
- Assist with the design, implementation and management of endpoint management and security solutions; i.e. Anti-malware, Antivirus systems, and Mobile Device Management (MDM).
- Actively engage in assisting the VOSS IT Team in operating, improving, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance for VOSS infrastructure such as:

- Active Directory / Identity Management Administration
- VMware vCenter, vROM, VSAN, and Hypervisors such as ESXi
- Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
- Linux/Windows Systems Administration
- Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Switches, Wireless, VPN, Security appliances & Cloud Security
- Storage Infrastructure ( SAN and vSAN)
- Network & Systems Monitoring (Zabbix, PRTG, vRealize, VOSS Insights)
- Oversee the care and feeding of the security and infrastructure and toolsets, including tuning alerts, scheduled maintenance, system updates/upgrades, optimizations, automations, and regular health checks
- Drive towards, and assist with the automation of repetitive tasks.
- Provide technical & business input into company IT security standards and best practices in alignment with industry recognized standards such as ISO27001 and SOC 2.
- Drive the adoption and implementation of an effective data classification and protection strategy which is aligned with industry standards, legal requirements and contractual obligations.
- Act us custodian for company policies relating to IT Operations, Information Security and Data Privacy.
- Work with the various VOSS teams (Engineering, Customer Success & DevOps) to define the Information Security related strategy for Secure Development & testing of Voss software and SaaS
- Identify growth areas for each IT Team member and mentor, and train IT Staff to continually grow and upskill the team’s abilities, relative to the Business needs.
- Ensure cross-training is provided so as to provide basic coverage for team time off or a surge in any specific work area.

- A minimum of 3 years IT Management / Leadership experience
- At least 2 years experience implementing, operating, auditing, and supporting company security compliance programs (ISO 27001, SOC 2 etc)
- At least 3 years of Microsoft Office 365 experience, including designing, implementing, supporting organizations security compliance goals leveraging Azure Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange as well as other key functionality such as MS Teams, SharePoint, Endpoint management, Defender ATP, Data Sensitivity Labels, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), etc.
