Factory Manager

Responsibilities in this role include preparing and attending management meetings, participating in conferences, ensuring timely filing of reports and correspondence, conducting regular electronic file backups, maintaining strict confidentiality, assuming responsibility for specific accounts and systems as directed by management, and adhering to Health & Safety, Environment and Quality requirements/standards and legislations.

**Responsibilities**

Daily Duties:

- Ensure that the factory is opened on time.
- Ensure work tasks are allocated to the Production employees.
- Ensure that production commences according to the schedule.
- Ensure that all deliveries and goods to be received are scheduled for the day.
- Ensure that all produced and used stock items are capture electronically.
- Ensure that allowances are made for shortfalls in raw materials and that they are available for the following days production.
- Ensure that attendance registers are completed.
- Ensure that all equipment is checked and faulty equipment is reported and repaired in a timely manner.

Weekly Duties:

- Ensure the production schedule is planned for the following week.
- Ensure the logistics for the following week has been planned.
- Ensure all raw materials required are available for the following weeks production.
- Ensure that safety meeting are conducted every Friday, ensure the attendance register is signed.
- Ensure the weeks production is stored in a safe and orderly manner.
- Ensure the warehouse is cleaned.

Monthly Duties:

- Ensure the monthly production figures report is generated electronically.
- Ensure that the following months production is planned according to the sales forecast figures.
- Liaise with the Technical Manager to ensure that there is enough raw materials available for production.
- Prepare the delivery schedule for the following month, in conjunction with the Sales Manager's needs.
- Ensure that a monthly meeting is held with the Technical Manager regarding employee and production concerns.

Additional Duties:

- Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for the factory are in place and that employees follow them.
- Ensure all safety KPI's are met including inspections, PTO and VFL.
- Answering of all chemical question and queries from the operational team with regards to the chemicals.
- Ensure chemical contractors are managed.
- Ensure logistics contractors are managed.
- Cost saving incentives.
- Check all chemical forecasting vs actual consumption as well as engage with Managers to ensure accurate forecasting.

General:

- You may be required to work outside of normal working hours from time-to-time.
- You will be required to prepare information and attend meetings as requested by management.
- You may be required to attend and participate in conferences.
- Ensure that all reports and correspondence generated by yourself in the course of your duties are filed electronically.
- Ensure that regular (every two weeks) back-up's of all electronic files are done.
- Ensure that confidentiality of all information you may acquire or request is upheld.
- You may required to assume responsibility for specific accounts and systems as requested by management.
- Adhere to all SHEQ requirements and legislation.

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- BEng Chemical Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years working experience in the chemical industry.
- Valid ID
- Valid drivers license
- Clear criminal record
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Problem solving skills.
- Management skills.

Pay: R35 000,00 - R45 000,00 per month

**Education**:

- Bachelors (preferred)

**Experience**:

- chemicals: 4 years (preferred)
