This pivotal role requires an individual who possesses both analytical precision and operational discipline. You will be entrusted with overseeing stock control processes within our cold storage facilities, ensuring that all temperature-sensitive products are stored, rotated, and dispatched according to strict cold chain protocols. The position demands accuracy in inventory reconciliation and a proactive approach to identifying discrepancies, implementing corrective measures, and maintaining temperature monitoring records to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks.

**Key responsibilities**
- Oversee and coordinate the receipt, storage, and dispatch of all cold chain stock items, ensuring compliance with temperature and hygiene requirements.
- Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and audits to maintain accurate inventory data across all cold storage facilities.
- Implement and monitor FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) systems to ensure product freshness and minimize wastage.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics departments to streamline stock movement, reduce holding times, and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Generate and analyse daily, weekly, and monthly reports on stock levels, variances, and losses; recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, cold chain integrity, and occupational health and safety policies at all times.
- Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies, liaising with internal stakeholders and implementing preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
- Assist in managing stock rotation schedules, temperature monitoring logs, and documentation required for internal and external audits.

**Minimum requirements**
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification; a diploma or certificate in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Inventory Management will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in cold storage, stock control, or food distribution environments.
- Strong knowledge of inventory systems, cold chain management principles, and food safety standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and warehouse management or ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, coupled with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
- Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive and temperature-controlled environment while maintaining a focus on quality and compliance.
