**Job Summary**:
We are currently looking for a Freelance Electrical Technician with a wireman’s licence as a bonus to assist us with ad hock panel design and build/wire projects. Must have exceptional knowledge of Delta PLC’s and HMI’s, some knowledge but not critical as training can be provided for Vega Radar sensors, some knowledge but not critical as training can be provided on scale indicator/load cells. The wiring and specifically the programming of PLC/HMI’s would be extremely advantageous. These projects would be locally built and assembled according to client needs and might involve traveling for installation and maintenance. You would play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of these projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Installation**:

- Install, assemble, and wire electrical components, systems, and equipment according to specifications and code or industry standard.
- Read/interpret and or create electrical drawings, read/interpret blueprints and schematics to navigate installation expectations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during installation processes.

**2. Maintenance and Repair**:

- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to identify and address potential issues.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems and diagnose malfunctions using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as wiring, switches, circuit breakers, and other electronic hardware to restore functionality.

**3. Testing and Calibration**:

- Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance.

Calibrate instruments and equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability.

**4. Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent electrical accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing electrical work.

**5. Documentation and Reporting**:

- Document work activities, including maintenance procedures, repairs, inspections, and test results.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of electrical maintenance activities for regulatory compliance and reference purposes.

**6. Collaboration and Communication**:

- Coordinate with other team members, including engineers, supervisors, and contractors, to plan and execute projects.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to convey project status, requirements, and any potential issues or concerns.

**7. Qualifications and Skills**:

- Relevant electrical technician certification (Wireman’s licence).
- Proven experience working as an electrical technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles, practices, and codes.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting and drawing electrical diagrams.
- Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with regulations.
- Willing and eager to learn new skills in a timely manner

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary, Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 weeks

Pay: R3 000,00 - R10 000,00 per week
