Production Supervisor Role Available in FMCG Sector, Helderberg.
We are on the lookout for a dedicated Production Supervisor to join our Operations Department's leadership team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, ready to take charge of overseeing production staff on their designated shifts, under the direct supervision of the Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and enforce strict food safety, health, quality, and hygiene standards.
- Implement and monitor adherence to standard operating procedures and our quality management system.
- Manage and support the Production Team in HR-related aspects such as attendance, discipline, performance evaluations, and training.
- Ensure team compliance with all food safety, health, quality, and hygiene regulations.
- Supervise accurate and complete documentation of production and quality records.
- Promptly identify and report any deviations or issues in production, quality, equipment, and safety.
- Address non-conformances and implement corrective measures.
- Investigate and propose solutions for deviations within the production environment.
- Perform regular visual checks on in-process products and staff activities, ensuring adherence to hygiene standards.
- Communicate production goals, errors, and any deviations to the team, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
- Execute verification checks, stock counts, and manage raw material availability for uninterrupted production.
- Play a proactive role in food safety and risk mitigation within the factory setting.
- Participate as a key member of the Food Safety Management System Team.
- Identify and facilitate necessary training for team members.
- Maintain exemplary housekeeping standards at all times.
- Provide support for various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
**Requirements**:
- A Matric qualification is mandatory.
- Relevant qualifications or at least 3 years of equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five years in the FMCG sector, with experience in the food industry, hospitality, or restaurant industry being acceptable.
- Familiarity with Food Industry Standards in South Africa (e.g., HACCP, ISO, FSA, FSSC) will be beneficial.
- Proven leadership capabilities with at least 3 years in a supervisory position.
- Exceptional time management abilities and resilience under pressure.
- Strong administrative, record-keeping, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented, systematic approach to tasks.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including night shifts, is required.
