The Logistics and Transport team is looking for a Depot Manager for the East London area to join their team.

As a Depot Manager, you will be responsible for the following activities:
**Key results**:

- Manage the depot operations to ensure all depot / gantry activities and products received, handled and issued are done so safely and efficiently thereby contributing to improved controls.
- Manage the depot’s stock on Ssam and TL to ensure: Stock levels are maintained at set targets to minimise working capital requirements and to meet supply demands, stock is reconciled daily on Ssam and TL so that sales transactions are processed and quality control is maintained. Stock gains/losses are within accepted norms/standards to minimise stock losses. Products are reconciled daily to maintain quality control.
- Manage the issuing and distribution of product in the depot to ensure: the right products, in the right time, at the right quantity against set service levels and transport
- Manage the depot employees through continuous people management, staff development and coaching / mentoring to ensure a positive working environment that will attract and retain skilled manpower and increase productivity.
- Manage the depot’s operating expenditure through regular budget monitoring to ensure a reduction in costs to improve the profitability of the Company.
- Manage the depot’s administration within Company guidelines that will result in improved controls and operation of the depot.
- Report consolidated results of the depot and any exceptions thereto monthly together with the corrective action plans to ensure accurate reporting of the depot’s activities and results
- Manage the host relationship, where applicable, with Other Oil Companies (OOC’s) by meeting the requirements of the agreement to ensure sound business relations. Ensure robust communication management within and between site and community (SRM+)
- Manage the practical training of Operations and Management trainees and employees from other depots through on-the-job training and rotation within the depot that will result in meeting the objective of the training programme.
**HSEQ**

Effectively manage and minimise the risk associated with depot operations by ensuring:

- compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guidelines and legal requirements within area of responsibility;
- promotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPI’s and risk reduction strategies; that HSE competency requirements are enforced within area of responsibility.
**Legal**:

- Comply to OHS-ACT 1 (Appoint 16.2) legal compliance to national, environmental and local laws c) appointment and monitoring of Health and Safety Committees (including: Safety Officer, Fire Team and First Aid)
- Manage the Optimising of TSA’s use of Depot assets and ensure compliance to NERSA licence conditions.
**HR**:

- Manage the Depot employees through continuous people / overtime management, staff development and coaching / mentoring to ensure a positive working environment that will attract and retain skills and increase productivity.
**Governance**:

- Ensure effective risk management and internal control, including asset management, for area of responsibility

- Manage the entire depot’s operation within the framework of relevant legislation and regulations governing the Industry thus ensuring high customer service levels with the aim of contributing to TOTAL’s profitability and strategic supply positioning within the market.
- Inconsistent supply of product to the depot due to shipping, transport priorities and other factors caused by external market forces (e.g., unplanned refinery shutdowns) exacerbate effective management of stock levels.
- Maintaining effective stock control due to various methods of receipt / distribution of product (e.g., shipping, road, rail). Extensive knowledge of various methods of receipt/delivery is required.
**Accountability**:

- Manage the entire operation of the Depot within the framework of relevant legislation and regulations governing the Industry thus ensuring high customer service levels with the aim of contributing to TOTAL’s profitability and strategic supply positioning
- KPI’s - expenditure, TL exceptions, audit reports (safety, quality, environment and admin), HSEQ stats, transport KPI, stock loss reports
- Suitable 3-year tertiary qualification. Degree/BTech in Engineering / Logistics
- 6 - 10 years’ experience gained in a petrochemical, production, and warehousing or industrial environment
- Extensive experience in stock and risk management gained in a petrochemical, production or industrial environment
