Marketplace Logistics Manager

The overall objective of the Marketplace Logistics Manager within the context of a new technology first platform is to:
- Drive efficiencies by leveraging technology and using systems thinking to solve operational delays;
- The successful incumbent will play a key managerial role in MzansGo’s new Freight Market Product;
- Provide general road transport expertise and find ways to solve industry problems using technology;
- Create and execute the onboarding of transport providers and customers/shippers;
- Ensure high load acceptance rates for all shippers;
- Assist in building a team framework to allow for scale;
- Work closely with the product manager and CEO to build out solutions based on transporter and shipper feedback;
**_Transporter Performance & Relationship Management:_**
- Evaluate cost effectiveness of Transport Providers v Revenue
- Provide regular KPI reviews, Transport Provider performance management, and proactive analytical support to help identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Effectively onboard Transport Providers and ensure they are familiar and compliant with client requirements
- Lead weekly discussion calls with the customer to ensure that all are informed on KPI trends and metrics
- Perform Transporter Provider reviews as needed to keep TP accountable in meeting expected service
- Negotiate rates with transport providers
- Management of Longhaul trips which are subcontracted to suppliers
- Source and recruit new Transport Providers (TPs)
- Building trust-based relationships with clients and Transport Providers
- Manage quotes and liaise with transport providers to negotiate mutually beneficial rates
- Add value by bringing unique solutions to a traditional market. We systemise traditional processes within the long haul transport procurement market and find ways to drive efficiencies. The Logistics Manager will have a very important role in providing general expertise in transport procurement and customer engagement ;
**_Internal Analytical Support_**
- Ability to analyse customers data and promote a cost acceptable solution that provides value for the customer
- Analysis of bid and spot freight data to determine if sourcing is required
**_Procurement Support_**
- End-to-End Strategy and Execution support of MzansiGo facilitated transportation procurement events (RFP) and mini-bids
- Recommend new Transport Providers based on MzansiGo’s data analysis and knowledge of the Shipper’s network and transportation market
**_Qualifications and_**_ _**_Experience:_**
- At least 5 years Experience in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge and expertise of Supply Chain Management
- Proven track record managing portfolio of Transport Providers
- Knowledge of Longhaul/Tautliner market essential
- Longhaul/Tautliner industry experience and knowledge essential
- Experience with Commercials regarding lane pricing
- Knowledge of Transport Providers, cost drivers and best practices
