**Job Advert Summary**:
***Purpose**:
To conduct out-reach activities in the PWID community by providing current accurate health information, mobilisation of Youth PWID’s to the mobile unit, and linkage to care.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 10
- Minimum 1-2 years working experience with PWID/PWUD or as a Peer Educator
- Experience working in HIV, TB, STI & gender-based violence programmes
- Previous key populations service delivery experience would be a significant advantage
- Youth Peer Educator should be between the age of 18-24 years
- Ability to communicate in English and IsiZulu or another South African language
- Intermediate level computer literacy

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Perform place-based outreach based on the micro planning methodology to Youth PWID/PWUD, their partners and stakeholders in the area
- Provide accurate health information to Youth PWID/PWUD on harm reduction and safe injecting practices, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, TB, SRH and human rights
- Promote healthy behaviour change
- Refer Youth PWID/PWUD living with HIV or TB for treatment to the SR nurse or nearest health facility
- Ensure HIV negative Youth PWID/PWUD are regularly tested
- Promote psychological support, referral to SR Social Auxiliary Worker (SAW) and follow-up
- Recruit Youth PWID/PWUD for Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) and complete eligibility criteria in relevant sites
- If trained, provide human rights defence for Youth PWID
- Identify Youth women who inject drugs and provide dignity packs
