**Role overview**

A vacancy has arisen for a highly skilled and detail-orientated Assistant Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team who will be responsible for managing and executing various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial operations.
- Process accounting entries accurately into the accounting system
- Preparing and reviewing of journals
- Process both local and foreign payments
- Preparing and reviewing of bank reconciliations
- Ensure recovery invoices are prepared based on agreements.
- Prepare accurate creditors, debtors, and bank reconciliations.
- Respond to creditors’ queries.
- Prepare monthly internal reporting.
- Compliance with tax, legislative and statutory requirements
- Maintenance of accounting records for debtors, creditors, ledgers,cashbook, and reconciliations
- Assist in maintaining sound internal controls within finance area.
- Prepare and submit the company’s tax return.
- Prepare monthly Vat return.
- Provide information for BEE reporting purposes.
- Assist with audit deliveries and liaise with auditors where necessary.
- Provides input into and support for process and control requirements to ensure highest financial reporting standards and controls are maintained.
- Assists with budgets and forecasts of entities.
- Compares costs with budgets and provides explanations for variances for monthly reports.
- Assists with ad hoc queries to support the financial manager and financial accountant in their responsibilities.
- Other general administrative duties as and when necessary Participate and assist in ad hoc project work.

**Skills, Qualifications and Experience required.**
- Accounting diploma or degree (Diploma and studying towards a degree will also be considered)
- Three to four years related experience in financial and accounting environment of a similar role.
- Sound basic financial and accounting skills
- Experience with online banking systems would be advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills
- Efficient in MS Office
- Knowledge and experience in Great Plains will be an added advantage.
