**JOB AT A GLANCE**:
Our client is looking for an efficient quality controller to maintain company quality standards, processes and procedures to improve quality, including training documentation, quality monitoring and audits. Perform inspections at all suppliers in house and on construction sites.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Identify, control and organize all quality records required for projects, both on site and by suppliers / subcontractors as well as internal quality documentation
- Ensure compliance to the company ISO systems.
- Ensure all client project quality requirements.
- Generate all client project quality documentation.
- Execute effective quality assurance and management on projects undertaken by the company.
- Liaise with suppliers and project teams on quality requirements.
- Identify and communicate to the project teams all quality records to be generated and maintained within projects, on site and by suppliers / subcontractors.
- Quality Inspections on turnkey projects undertaken by the company.
- Assist with training of Junior Inspectors
- Assist the sales and tendering team with costing of quality assurance and control compliance in accordance with the client specifications and the company’s standard quality requirements.
**DUTIES**:
- Prepare and control Quality Control Plans / Inspection Test Procedures
- Prepare internal standard quality control and assurance procedures and requirements.
- Full responsibility for data book management both internally and for subcontractors and suppliers
- Perform In-house and external quality inspections as per the quality system required for fabrication / supply and create and maintain inspection documentation.
- Inspection and release of all incoming and outgoing products/goods
- Ensure that the required quality documentation is obtained, controlled and executed by suppliers.
- Perform any other duties required by your line manager.
- Assessing suitability of suppliers to provide the company with goods.
- Attending kick-off meetings with suppliers and project team to ensure the company and our client’s requirements are understood. Driving suppliers and sub-contractors to submit QCPs and ITPs
- Assessing and approving our suppliers and subcontractors QCPs and identifying our Witness, Review, and Hold points etc.
- Obtaining and incorporating Client (and AIA if necessary) witness points etc to supplier QCPs
- Driving suppliers to follow their own QCPs.
- Verifying appropriateness of supplier records and managing them for missing information
- Checking contents of Data books and managing deficiencies
- Producing of Data books for Client and maintaining our records
- Assessing capability of subcontractors
- Auditing project sites, suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare quality status reports at required intervals.
- Preparation and control of Project Quality Control Plans
- Assist with the on-going implementation and upgrading of the ISO Quality, Environment and Safety Standards
- Review and evaluate quality performance (internal, site, sub-contractors and suppliers) and initiate corrective action.
- Ensuring full compliance to the company’s quality management system
- Ensuring full compliance to clients quality requirement
- Review and assess the quality management of the company for continuous improvement.
- Attend project progress meetings and provide feedback to the project execution team on the status of quality assurance and control activities
- Provide monthly feedback on status of all project quality assurance and control activities.
- Perform any other duties required by your designated departmental manager
**KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES**:
- Must possess a suitable tertiary qualification in Engineering / Quality Control
- A Quality Control / Management qualification or equivalent would be an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the engineering / construction sector is required.
- Proven experience in the creation, control and management of quality control procedures and processes is a necessity.
- Valid South African Divers License.
- Valid Passport.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and techniques is an advantage.
- Quality control testing and inspection experience is essential.
- An inspection qualification would be an advantage.
- Computer literacy in the Google workspace tools and experience with cloud computing, such as DocuSign etc.
- Needs to be assertive with good interpersonal skills.
