**POSITION: ACCOUNTING ANALYST (C3)**

**DEPARTMENT: FINANCE**

**LOCATION: CAPE TOWN**

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**: To ensure accurate and timely recording, as well as analysis of accounting aspects and inventory entries of PEP Africa’s subsidiaries within agreed time frames in support of the company's strategic goals.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Ensure accurate and timely recording, as well as analysis of PEP Africa subsidiaries' (South Africa and 5 African countries) accounting including:
Ensuring accurate accounting and reconciliation
Assist with compiling management reporting
Analysis of variances to budget
Process and system improvements
New Accounting Standards - IFRS
Various reports to the business (e.g. Store Income Statements, Cellfin Income Statement, Exco Reports, Pepkor Reports, and Presentations, etc)
Drive automation of non-automated transactions in line with Pepkor Group and best practices.
Ensure timeous closing off of accounts/trial balances in line with Pepkor Group reporting calendars
Support to external and internal auditors as required
Ensure data Integrity between financial data and other relevant databases (merchandise, AMS,POS, etc.)
Ad hoc duties and involvement in projects as required

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

Studying towards completion CA/CIMA qualification
3+ years’ experience in Finance environment
Retail industry experience will be advantageous
Knowledge of financial control environment and governance
Understanding of the business, industry and economic environment and relevant role-players
Knowledge of accounting for foreign currencies and consolidation is desirable
Computer literacy: Advanced level (MS Office Software, Google Suite and Financial systems)
Ability to work in a team, report/communicate effectively to a leader whilst adhering to strict deadlines
Willingness to travel to Africa on an ad hoc basis
South African Citizen
