- The incumbent will be responsible for internal and external customer services and adherence to customer specific requirements related to IATF 16949:2016, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001: 2015, ISO 45001:2018 and other relevant quality standards.- Duties will include the following:
- To manage a plant laboratory to ensure achievement of high quality service in line with customer needs and organisational objectives.- To manage and supervise laboratory Technicians and Assistants - Technical Service and its resources.- Generating of the TDSS and PDS.- Screening, interpretation and authorizing Laboratory Request Forms and Laboratory Reports- Provide support to sales division on technical matters, in house and in the field, including customer plant manuals.- Organising general Technical laboratory work.- Ensure that all Technical Service laboratory equipment and instruments are operational and maintained.- To be a reliable source to the customer and Sales as regards product knowledge and service.- Mentorship of staff including Learners or Interns whilst in the Laboratory.- Provide technical expertise and advice to customers when and if required by Sales Department.- Contribute to the company's Care management system activities as and if required.- Drive the 5 “S” program in the laboratory.- Comply with IATF 16 949, ISO 14001 and EHS- Contribute to the setting and achievement of laboratory objectives and targets and ensure continual improvement.- Any reasonable duties that the Technical Manager sees fit from time to time-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Minimum Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 and;- A National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (NQF level 6)- or;
- BSc (Bachelor of Science) in Chemistry (NQF level 7)- or;
- BTech (Bachelor of Technology) in Chemistry (NQF level 7)- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a laboratory environment working in the industrial chemical manufacturing industry or similar workplace environment.- Preferably 3 years’ experience in Metal Pre-Treatment and chemical surface preparation.- IATF 16 949, ISO 14001 knowledge and practical experience-
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a team manager in a Professional leadership role- Personal Attributes:
- Ability to build trust, respect and confidentiality amongst team members- Anticipates issues, solves problems, able to make clear decisions and judgements- Well-developed verbal & written communication, presentation, project management, report compilation & interpersonal skills- Strong critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize complex information,- High personal, work and ethical standards- High attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency in completing tasks- Leadership skills to direct and complete tasks and support initiatives.**What Qualification**
